BBQ TOFU RIBS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb extra firm tofu
  • Olive oil for brushing the tofu strips
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Your favorite BBQ sauce


PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Drain the tofu and wrap in paper towels. Place a baking pan on top of the wrapped tofu and a heavy can on top of the pan to drain as much water from tofu as possible.  After a few minutes, replace the paper towels with new ones and repeat the process.

Cut the tofu into 1/2 inch slices.  Then cut into strips.
Place the strips on wire racks and brush with olive oil and season with salt & pepper.

Place wire racks on a baking pan and bake for 35-45 mins.

Danielle notes:  I use the speed bake feature on my oven to make them extra crispy.

During the last 10 minutes of baking, brush them with BBQ sauce.
